Galaxy Status Bar Decal – Free Vector Template

A little while back, I posted the iPhone-style status bar decal I made for my own Mustang. Today I’m following that up with the companion piece: a Galaxy status bar decal for anyone running Android instead.

I actually use an iPhone myself, which is why the first version went on my own rear window. But a good number of people I know drive Galaxy phones, and it didn’t feel right to leave them out. So this one is built specifically for Galaxy users who want the same idea, just accurate to their own phone’s status bar.

What’s Different About the Galaxy Version

This design ended up a bit more detailed than the iPhone version. Galaxy’s status bar carries a bit more information on screen, so I added two things to match it:

• A small up-and-down arrow next to the wifi icon, representing the data/network activity indicator
• A battery percentage number sitting inside the battery icon, instead of a plain outline

It’s a slightly busier design overall, but that’s intentional — the goal was to make it read as an actual Galaxy status bar, not just a generic phone icon set.

Recommended Size

The right size really depends on how much rear window space you’re working with.

For a smaller rear window, I’d go with 15–20 cm wide. If you’ve got a larger rear window — trucks and SUVs, for example — sizing up to 20–23 cm looks great and keeps the icons legible without feeling oversized.

Design Details

Just like the iPhone version, every corner on this design is rounded rather than sharp. Rounded edges hold up better over time and are far less likely to start lifting or peeling at the corners once the decal has been on the glass for a while.

Color and Removal

For color, I’d stick with white or light gray, since that’s the closest match to how these icons actually look on a phone screen against a bright status bar.

One thing worth knowing before you commit: this doesn’t require automotive-grade vinyl. Regular sign vinyl works fine here. If you ever remove it and some adhesive residue is left behind on the glass, a flat razor blade takes it off easily. And if the vinyl ever gets damaged from UV exposure over time, it’s simple enough to peel it off and apply a fresh one — there’s no risk of damaging the glass either way.
